Results and exports

The Data and Results tab is the home of everything participants submitted to the published survey.

The response list

Summary cards show totals at the top, the table lists one row per response with its status and timing. Selecting rows enables bulk deletion, single responses delete from their row. Deleting a response permanently removes its answers and any files the participant uploaded, the bytes are erased from storage, not merely hidden.

Preview responses never appear here and never export, they are flagged at collection time and purged automatically.

Response detail

View opens the full response, metadata (timing, duration, version), any custom variables set during the run, and every question and answer grouped by block, with type-appropriate rendering, lists for multi-selects, grids for matrix answers, follow-up answers beside their choices, and download links for uploaded files. File downloads are permission-checked, only the project owner and collaborators can fetch them.

Exports

Four formats, Excel (XLSX), CSV, Stata (DTA), and SPSS. The export contains one row per response with

  • answers in one column per question (matrix questions produce a column per row, form fields a column per field, follow-up inputs their own columns),
  • mapped values where choices define them, otherwise labels,
  • the participant's actual item and choice orderings where randomization applied,
  • per-page timings and total duration,
  • custom variables as columns,
  • rating-task answers connected to their items.

Including uploaded files

For XLSX and CSV, an Include uploaded files option turns the export into a ZIP, the spreadsheet plus every participant-uploaded file organized in folders by question and response, with the spreadsheet cells referencing the file paths. Without the option, exports stay plain spreadsheets and cells carry the filenames.

Where the data lives

Survey data belongs to the project. It survives version changes (each response records the version it was collected under) and transfers with the project if ownership is ever transferred. Deleting the project (and emptying the dashboard Recycle Bin) permanently deletes its responses and files.
